Our community has expressed support for the dog park through social media, personal conversations, community visioning and as a top vote getter on the McCook Community Foundation Fund “Dreams for McCook” tree. A dog park would be a great asset to the community of McCook by providing a great way for local dog owners to socialize and meet new friends.
Dog parks have grown in popularity throughout the country as more people have pets. According to a 2018 poll conducted by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), “91% of Americans believe dog parks provide benefits to the communities they serve.” NRPA also cites three major benefits a dog park can bring to a community:
